I’m starting a new tradition with this special edition of my newsletter where I share my most-read posts of the year.
It’s a shock to me that I have over 30,000 followers on LinkedIn and hundreds of subscribers to this newsletter. It’s great to see such interest in employee experience and I hope you find this a useful way to stay in touch.
I think 2024 is going to be a year of great adventure personally; let me wish you all the best for the year ahead and stay tuned!
My top LI post was this one on how leaders' emotions affect employee engagement. I shared new research that showed leaders’ emotional expressions “are not just fleeting moments; they may set the tone for the entire workday of employees."
Another top post was this one on “What really matters for Transformation?” I discuss the different levels of systems; with most hidden far below the surface. (Mental models / mindsets is an area where I’m doing more and more work.)
Next up is this post which asked “how job demands and resources impact engagement or burnout at work?” It’s a summary of a great review paper. Sadly, burnout is still an urgent topic in many workplaces.
Helping leaders build trust is my “Big Topic”. It was the focus of my book and I post a lot about trust. This summary of Frances Frei’s Trust Triangle was viewed by 325,000 people on LI, so it’s not just me that’s interested in this!
This is my own most-read article of the year. In April, I wrote about how you can have both high employee engagement and high turnover; and if that’s the case for you, what you can do about it.
That’s it for now.
Have a fabulous end to 2023.
